Abstract:

Political corruption appears under more shapes than those set out in the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption.
The lack of transparency in the funding of political parties favors and generates corruption, as shown by the case law of the courts.
In order to combat political corruption, the criminal penalties are simply insufficient; instead, there is a great need for political decisions to restructure the electoral system and to finance political parties.
